Begin with the official material
The European Commission provides explanations, implementation information, and links relating to the AI Act. Use official legal texts and current guidance when investigating a requirement. Timetables and implementation arrangements can change; a dated blog post may describe a previous position. This page is educational orientation, not an applicability determination.
Describe who does what
A company developing a system, integrating a service, distributing a product, or using an application may occupy different roles. The facts of the arrangement matter. Document the supplier chain, intended purpose, use context, and relevant jurisdictions before drawing conclusions about responsibilities.
Avoid a universal compliance checklist
The obligations relevant to an AI application can depend on its category, role, use, and timing. A control useful for security may support only part of a legal requirement. Ask a qualified owner to determine applicability and keep the reasoning with the evidence. Do not infer a legal conclusion solely from a framework mapping.
A better educational example
Follow a fictional organization evaluating an AI-assisted recruiting tool. List the affected people, decision process, suppliers, human review, data handling, and questions for legal analysis. Show which facts must be resolved before a compliance plan can be written. The uncertainty is part of the lesson, not a gap to hide with a confident answer.
Try this with a familiar use case
Choose a document assistant or an AI feature your team understands. Read one of the official resources below, write down a question it raises, and identify the local evidence needed to answer it. Keep your own interpretation separate from the source’s stated requirements.
